Nicole is currently a 5th-year senior in the Architectural Engineering Program at Penn State University. She will be graduating August of 2008 with a bachelor of Architectural Engineering, with an emphasis in Construction Management. During the past two summers Nicole has interned at Advanced Technologies Incorperated, in Houston Texas, and at Ellerbe Becket in Washington D.C. During both internships, Nicole Decided to broaden her knowledge and work as both a CM intern and an Electrical/ Lighting intern. This decision has given her a new perspective on the industry as a whole, and given her the option to work in the Electrical field as well as the construction field. During the winter of 2006 and 2007, Nicole took part in a research trip, to Ghana, Africa, to study globalization and sustainability. The trip was part of a 2-semester course and the trip lasted 23 days. After the trip, Nicole decided that after establishing herself as an engineer, she would return to Ghana, and begin plans for a housing project. Currently she is working with others to learn more about the housing industry in Ghana as well as the environment of Ghana. While at Penn State Nicole has been involved in numerous extracurricular activities. Those activities include Habitat for Humanity, Project Haiti, Achiever’s weekend, and NSBE. Nicole is currently serving as Treasurer for the Fall 2007-Spring 2008 year for NSBE.
